UAE Team L’IMAD is pleased to announce that Maeva Squiban has extended her contract with the team through to the end of the 2029 season, continuing a partnership that has already produced some of the most memorable moments of her career.
The 24-year-old French rider joined the team in 2025 and has made significant progress over her first two seasons, establishing herself as one of the most versatile and promising riders in the international peloton.
“I think I made steady progress and was able to learn a lot over those two seasons,” Squiban says, looking back on her time with the team so far.
Her breakthrough came at the 2025 Tour de France Femmes, where she produced one of the outstanding performances of the race. Squiban won two consecutive stages, attacking solo to victory first on Stage 6 in Ambert and then again on Stage 7 in Chambéry. The two victories were the first Tour de France Femmes wins of her career and also her first successes in the UAE Team jersey. She was subsequently awarded the Super Combative Rider prize for the entire 2025 Tour.
“If I have to choose only one moment, I would say Stage 6 of the Tour de France 2025,” she says. “It was my first victory with the team jersey and also my first one in the Tour de France. Just a dream.”
The success was not an isolated moment. Squiban continued to develop into an increasingly complete rider, showing her qualities both in one-day races and stage races.
That progression continued in 2026. Squiban opened her European season with a victory at the Trofeo Marratxí–Felanitx. She then finished second overall at the Setmana Ciclista Valenciana, with further strong performances followed at the Vuelta a Extremadura, and at La Vuelta Femenina. In June, she added another major result by taking silver in the French National Time Trial Championships, finishing just 11 seconds from the title.
For Squiban, the team’s contribution to her development goes beyond the results.
“The team enabled me to learn a lot, thanks to the staff and the riders,” she explains. “Also to take part in the finest races and put in strong performances in some of them.”
That positive environment was ultimately decisive when it came to choosing where to continue her career.
“I feel well with the team, so I didn’t see any reason to make a change,” Squiban says.
With her future now secured until 2029, Squiban is keen to continue developing every aspect of her riding. One particular goal stands out: becoming a stronger contender in stage-race general classifications.
“I’d like to improve a little bit in every area, but if I had to choose just one, it would be to improve my GC in stage races.”

For Squiban, the objectives for the coming seasons are clear: to continue improving, to enjoy racing and, above all, to win.
“Of course, to win races. I am here for this,” she says. “And to take pleasure on my bike and make my family proud of me.”
