UAE Team L’IMAD announces changes to its rider development programme for 2027

UAE Team L’IMAD has confirmed that the UAE Development Team will not continue as a separate UCI Women’s Continental Team for the 2027 season. Following a review of its sporting organisation, the team is changing how it supports the development of young riders.

UAE Team L’IMAD will continue to support its current Development Team riders during the 2027 season, with support tailored to their individual needs and stage of development. The priority is to help each athlete continue progressing in her career.

Within its WorldTour structure, UAE Team L’IMAD will continue to develop young riders who are ready to take that step. They will have the opportunity to learn alongside experienced teammates, with their progression guided by individual readiness and racing opportunities suited to their development.

The Development Team has helped riders gain experience and progress to the WorldTour. UAE Team L’IMAD recognises the contribution of the riders and staff who have made that progress possible.

Melissa Moncada, President of UAE Team L’IMAD, said: “We are proud of what our Development Team has achieved and grateful to everyone who has contributed. Our priority now is to support our riders through this change and help them continue progressing. Developing young talent remains part of our commitment to women’s cycling. We want every young rider in our WorldTour team to have the time, guidance and opportunities she needs to grow.”
