A strong performance from Febe Jooris saw the Belgian rider of UAE Team L’IMAD finish seventh in the individual time trial at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal, in the Women’s Under-23 category.
Jooris spent several minutes in the hot seat after setting the fastest provisional time, before eventually being overtaken by the riders who followed. She completed the 20.3-kilometre course in a time just 1:07 behind Australia’s Felicity Wilson-Haffenden, who claimed the U23 world title.
The silver medal went to Dutch rider Nienke Vinke, 28 seconds behind the winner, while Belgium’s Luca Vierstraete took bronze at 45 seconds.
Three young riders from UAE Development Team also gained valuable experience on the world stage. Germany’s Magdalena Leis finished 23rd at 1:52, Ukraine’s Milana Ushakova was 26th at 2:12, while Spain’s Celia Torres placed 35th at 3:11.
For all three riders, competing in Montréal represented an important opportunity to gain experience at one of the biggest events on the international cycling calendar.
